My Cool Brother

This is my brother Rob, carrying a really long pole.  He's participating in a Highland Game competition where he lives.  Those guys watching him look slightly afraid, dumbfounded by my brother's strength and agility.  They're thinking, "Man, I wish I could lift a really long pole like that."  Clearly, they are not as cool as my brother.

Any ideas where my brother lives?  Ocean.  Red Sand.  Anyone?

It's a place that receives visits from royal couples.  I know it's hard to see but the people coming down the steps of that plane are Will and Kate.  They came to visit my brother this past summer.  Will and Rob are buds. My brother is cool.

Okay, do you know where he lives yet?  This is him putting seaweed around the foundation of his house for insulation.  Ocean. Red ground.  Royal visits.  Seaweed as insulation.

Okay, I'll tell you.  He lives in Prince Edward Island.  For all you who are not sure where that is, see if you can find it on a map.  It's tiny.  It's north and east of Maine.  It's Anne's land.  You know ..... Anne, Marilla, Matthew, Diana Cuthbert and of course Gilbert Blythe.  I wonder if Matthew put seaweed around their house to protect them from winter?  Lucy Montgomery didn't tell us that.
I bet they did and I bet Anne helped.

This is my brother's lovely wife Susan.  Come to think of it she could pass as Anne.  She's not from Prince Edward Island but she does have red hair.  No, forget that.  That would mean my brother Rob is Gilbert and that is too weird.  Susan sent me all these awesome pictures of my brother and I'm very thankful for them.  I haven't seen Rob in several years.  Prince Edward Island is difficult to get to.  It's a long drive from our land to Anne's land.

If I was part of a royal couple maybe I could fly there, but since I'm married to Farmer Boy I'm just going to have to be content to look at pictures of my brother carrying long poles, shoveling seaweed and carrying very heavy weights.

I'm so very thankful for the pictures.  Thanks Susan.

Happy Birthday brother.  You truly are cool.  I miss you.  I love you.  I can't wait to see you again.

  1. Wow! The slender Robbie I knew as a teen has sure grown some muscles!!! I am envious of Susan and Robbie- I would love to live in Anne's land. I did visit there once, in 1989. I walked thru Green Gables and put my toes in the ocean.
