A Little Bit of This, A Little Bit of That

There's been this and that going on around here.

There's been a bit of this.

Critters! Dirty Pigs. Proud roosters. Farm life.

There's also been a bit of this.

We are trying to get some landscaping work done. Flower beds need weeded and mulched. The garden, full of manure and compost, needed worked up and made ready to plant. However, we don't just weed and work up. We do it in style. Scooby Doo shirts, athletic shorts, and work boots. Don't forget winter leg syndrome. We've got it and we're not afraid to flaunt it. That is how you get things done.

There has been a lot of this.

I'm so proud of Elizabeth. She wasn't entirely sure she wanted to do track this year. She didn't think she could run.

The girl can run.

Her track team won their conference title on Friday night. Champions.

Saturday morning she got up at the crack of dawn, put her uniform back on, and we travelled down to the State meet. They won state. THEY WON STATE! Champions.

Elizabeth can run. She can run far. It was the most incredible experience to cheer junior high girls on. Girls on the brink of so many things. Girls simply being girls.  I loved it. I loved every minute of it. It was so much more than track. It was possibility, determination, innocence, hope, friendship, teamwork and so much more.

I'm so proud of Elizabeth for going out, for trying it, for pushing herself and for being a part of something bigger than herself. The championships were great but were icing on the cake.

So fun. You go girl!

That's about it. This and that. Here and there. Trying to keep up. Trying not to forget two very important words.

Thank you.
