Immeasurably More



Sometimes things are bigger, or more than you expect them to be.  Elizabeth was washing eggs down in the basement.  She came hollering up the steps, amazed at what she had found.  Huge.  Ouch.  So much more than that poor chicken expected.





The egg somehow didn't fit anywhere. It was simply too much, way more than our egg carton was prepared for.  After having three children I can't help but feel a little pity for the poor chicken who laid that egg.  I know she's just a chicken but come on, ouch.



Farmer Boy pulled the egg out of it's cramped quarters on Saturday morning to make French toast. One egg, two yolks. More than was expected.  I wish I knew which chicken laid it.  I'd walk out to the coop and show her these pictures.  Show her what her struggle produced.   Her pain and suffering was not in vain.

This is not related and yet it comes to mind.  Yesterday we went to a different church to see the daughter of a friend get baptized.  It was a glorious service.  Baptisms on Easter Sunday, how fitting.  The word resurrection lodged in my mind and as I saw the people emerge from the water, I bit back the tears.  So beautiful.

The pastor used Ephesians 3:20-21 in his sermon, one of my all time favorites.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.




Immeasurably more than we all we ask or imagine, according to His power.
Amen.

  2. You know what's cool? I've been memorizing Eph. 3:17-21 for the past few weeks.
